I’ve entered a “fruit-less” depression since leaving Hawaii.
It’s not that cheap fruit cannot be found in NYC. Just the other day I photographed the bounty I brought in from fruit stands, foraging, and Union Square Greenmarket for under $20.
However, nothing beats the taste of produce on the West Coast, especially when I can find fresh, amazingly sweet papayas in Hawaii for about $.60 each. Here I must make do with the less sweet, larger, but more expensive $4 papayas, which I just yet haven’t worked up the heart to spend that much money on.Instead, it’s been a return to eating lots of bananas and banana ice cream – apples and oranges – fruit that are easy to find and cheap in NYC.
So I’ve been cheating.- Drinking diet coke
- Eating salty dim sum after my friend and I went out to eat in Chinatown after dominating our Escape the Room challenge
- Probably going above the 10% fat calorie ratio I’m supposed to have in my diet
I’m a failure!
And it’s showing…
Ok. Maybe you can’t see it in this picture of my last night. But I’m up from 132 to 136 and my belly is a little jiggly. So it’s time to take action!
More regular and longer walks with dogs
New sneakers to help me avoid injuring myself as I recently did.And generally sticking to the principles of Raw Till 4.
I’ll keep you posted on my return to my tighter, makes-me-happier shape.
